About this special
In aid of Marie Curie, The Strathspey Railway are providing a steamin’ Soup and Sandwich Lunch Special. Served aboard the 12.30pm lunchtime service on 11th October, this is a stunning steam trip with a difference. Proceeds from the event go straight to the Marie Curie Highland Unit.
Our Marie Curie steamin’ Soup and Sandwich special departs Aviemore, Platform 3, at 12:30 on Thursday 11th October. You will travel via Boat of Garten to Broomhill and back as part of our normal daily train schedule. An on board raffle will be organised with some great prizes up for grabs. After a nice relaxing journey with some delicious food served on board, your train will be back in Aviemore at 14:08
Prices and Booking
Proceeds from all Marie Curie tickets will go to charity as The Strathspey Railway will be providing the train seats and lunches as a donation to Marie Curie Highland Unit. Ticket prices will include your return journey rail travel and a soup and sandwich lunch served on board. Advance booking is required for this event. Online booking is essential for our Marie Curie special.
About Marie Curie and The Strathspey Railway
Through this annual event, the Strathspey Railway Special supports the 32 Highland nurses that provided nearly 20,000 hours of care to 379 patients throughout the North of Scotland. The high quality nursing care is provided totally free of charge and gives people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
