I have booked online, is my confirmation number my travel ticket?

No. Please take note of your confirmation number, but you must also bring along your confirmation email to our ticket office on your booked date of travel. We will exchange this for your travel tickets.

I didn’t receive my online booking email confirmation - what should I do?

Please ring the office on 01479 810725  or email and we can check your booking and resend your confirmation.

I can’t print my email confirmation, can I show you on my phone or tablet?

Confirmation email is shown, or name on booking given, to receive travel tickets, confirmations are not valid for travel on trains.

What time does the ticket office open?

Ticket office hours:
0930 – 1500 on operational days only. Closed at other times
Main office 7 days 0930-1630.

I need to make a change to my booking - how do I do it?

Please ring the office on 01479 810725  or email and we can make any changes for you.

We have to cancel our booking, will we be charged an admin fee and will we get a refund?

We are happy to fully refund any bookings when the cancellation is made more than 7 days before the date of travel. Within 7 days, the full refund is discretionary.
There is no admin fee for changes to bookings.

Do you offer discounts for groups?

Yes, we have group rates for travel aboard our steam and vintage diesel services – please don’t hesitate to ring our office on 01479 810725 or email us to discuss. Unfortunately, we can’t offer discounts on group meal bookings.

Do we have to pre-book tickets?

All meals and special events must be pre booked at all times.
Bookings close 24 hours in advance of departure date for Light Lunch and Afternoon Teas. Sunday Lunch and Evening Dining bookings close 3 days in advance to allow the food to be ordered.
Menu choices for Evening Dining and Sunday Lunch must be submitted at least 3 days prior to travel.
Standard travel only can be purchased at ticket offices.

When can I book Santa Express tickets?

Santa Express tickets generally go on sale around September. Add us on Facebook (link available in footer) for the most up to date information and ticket announcements!

What age is a senior ticket applicable to?

For a Senior ticket you should be 60 or over.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my baby?

Yes, all passengers on the train must have a ticket no matter how old! Children under 5 travel free and as they have a seat to themselves, you can bring along a car seat to make your journey easier for your baby! Please highlight all Under 5 children travelling with you when booking.

Instructions and conditions of discounts for all groups have been issued to the companies. Please refer to your company for full details on the discount available to you.
Please note that any concessionary fares will not be applicable to special events, dining on board, or tours and packages ticket purchases.

What Is The Price Of Upgrading To First Class?

We have four First Class Compartments aboard our daily steam, Sunday Lunch and Summer Dining services. Each compartment seats a maximum of four people. There is a First Class tab on the booking page and the price includes the compartment, full journey and any food (if applicable).

What do I do if I'm looking to get tickets from Boat of Garten or Broomhill Stations and the Ticket Offices are shut?

If the Station is not manned (which may happen on the rare occasion), please disembark at another Station and purchase your tickets there. You should also inform the Guard on board and they will see you at a later point in the journey and check your tickets then.

Dogs and Bikes

Bring your bikes on board for free and explore this amazing area! We also welcome dogs aboard our services for just £1- though for health & safety reasons they cannot sit in First Class or dining areas!
