The Strathspey Railway is pleased to announce that our oldest engine, Caledonian Railway Engine 828 (built in 1899) will be back in steam this coming season. This engine was built at St. Rollox in Glasgow, and its specific type and class is McIntosh 812 0-6-0. This engine is the sole survivor of its class, of which 17 had been built in that particular year. For 2017 scheduled Caledonian 828 services click here. Please note 828 will now not run on Monday 8th May and will be replaced by 46512. 828 is scheduled to haul the 10:30 and 13:00 (Traditional Sunday Lunch) and 46512 the 12:30 and 14:45 services on Sundays.
Senior travel tickets are available on display of proof of age/identification to over 60s. Child travel tickets are applicable to children under 16. Under 5s travel free. Family tickets are valid for up to two adults and up to three children. Shed visits, held on the first Saturday of every month from April to October, are free of charge.
